2016 Pastors’ Retreat

Cold wind. Coffee. Ducks. Shotguns. Preachers. Wait, preachers?!? That’s right, all these and more were present at the 2016 HPW Pastors’ Retreat January 17th-19th. Pastors from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas descended upon St. Charles, AR. for two days of study, encouragement, and of course, duck hunting.

The pastors who attended this year’s retreat had an opportunity to encourage one another as they discussed what it means to be willing and eager to lead the local church where God has blessed them to serve. Special attention was given to Peter’s command in 1 Peter 5.2 to “Shepherd God’s flock which is under your care…”.

HPW recognizes the importance of the local church in Kingdom work. We understand that pastors often have no one with whom they can share their hurts, hopes, and struggles. This year’s retreat gave those who attended the opportunity to enjoy camaraderie, rest, and the great sport of duck hunting in a relaxed and refreshing environment.

To the churches that let your pastor attend this years retreat: THANK YOU! Thank you for loving your pastor enough to give him some time away. Thank you for trusting HPW enough to know that your pastor’s time with us would be both relaxing and engaging.

Pastors, we are grateful for all of your hard work. Thank you for your service AND for the opportunity to invest in your lives.

Lead on!
